What is DealVu

DealVu is the blotter presentation application for the AllTrade financial instrument management system. DealVu facilitates the inspection of deals, in the deal database, that meet specific criteria. All blotter displays are updated in real-time as new trades are inserted into the database.

Conventions

Where possible, standard data-entry and window-control conventions have been followed. Fields may be non-destructively tabbed between (using the keyboard). In every dialog a default button may be activated using the <RETURN> key.

Starting the Client

The DealVu client is started by activating the AllTrade icon found on the desktop of a system on which a client installation has been performed.

Logging In

When the DealVu client is started a login screen is displayed. The user should enter a username and a password into the appropriate fields and hit the Ok button or press <RETURN> on the keyboard. The <TAB> key may be used to switch between fields.

Blotter Operations

Once a user is logged in, trades are loaded from the AllTrade Server via a web server on the central NT. The login window changes to a command window and the user may select from among several functions e.g. "New Blotter". When "New Blotter" is selected a new dialog box appears and the user may select a pre-existing deal filter or define a new one. Once a filter is defined and named, it will appear in the "Filters" window and may be selected by double-clicking with the mouse. Once activated, a blotter displays deals received and is updated in real-time.
